Here’s a little bit more about the novella…
After years toiling in obscurity, Thomas, a crime fiction author, is finally able to leave personal tragedy and poverty behind. A Hollywood benefactor has offered him a chance at success and celebrity. But deadly trouble looms when a beautiful woman comes between them. And Thomas discovers that the pain that drives him and ghosts haunting him aren’t content with staying in the past, but begin to appear in the night at every turn.
Incapable of distinguishing the dead from the living, his life from fantasy, Thomas tries to navigate his way through a bloodstained landscape of lust and murder.
Long After Dark by Greg F. Gifune Up For Preorder
It’s now available to the general public, but not for long. As of this posting, only 8 copies of the limited edition and 5 copies of the lettered edition are available.
After listening to customers and other advisers I have decided to include a dust jacket with mylar protector for all Delirium 2010 limited editions, including this one. The binding material will remain of the upgraded nature, the color will be uniform for all 2010 titles, differing from the 2009 binding material color. Lastly, there will be a slipcase for sale to house all 4 titles at year’s end, for those of you who’d like to match these as sets. No price increase.
Hardcover subscribers remain largely split between those that prefer DJs and those who do not. So I hope this presents the best alternative for all parties involved, as it’s a complete package on both sides. I know I was one who fell on the side that didn’t care for DJs, but my plans are to take off the DJs and house the books in the slipcase at year’s end, as intended. The slipcase will be customized to fit the books with or without DJs…totally your choice.

Harry Fremont hasn’t slept in days. He’s down with a terrible flu: runny nose, fever, a sore throat, the chills, and worst of all, a horrible cough that keeps him up all night. His wife Kelly is away on a business trip and their son Garret is at college, leaving Harry alone in the house. Though worn out, Harry has been unable to sleep…and things are starting to change. He’s seeing unusual things outside, just beyond the windows and confines of his home…hearing things…experiencing unsettling things that make no sense. And they’re getting worse.
Are they simply figments of a tortured and exhausted mind, or clues to an intricate mystery steeped in evil and deception Harry cannot yet comprehend? Haunted by remnants of earlier nightmares, disturbing questions about his life and marriage, strange shadowy figures, odd noises, cryptic writings on his doors and glimpses of a hideously disfigured being wrapped in bloody bandages, Harry free-falls into a horrifying world of paranoia, agony and terror where nothing is what it seems.
Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us…long after dark.
Sleep while you still can.

Delirium Production Input: The Great Dust Jacket Debate
As I’m less than a week away from moving this year’s first Delirium title to the binding stage, I’m asking for some input from Delirium hardcover subscribers.
Would you like to see Delirium’s 2010 titles with or without dust jackets?
Leave me a note in the comments section below (if you’re reading this on the Horror Mall forums, please leave input on the blog comments section, not in the forums). This isn’t a discussion, it’s a gathering of feedback from hardcover subscribers.
Please make sure you leave your real name and correct e-mail when posting comments. And note that if this is your first comment on this blog, it will be held for moderation, but will appear once approved.
Comments from those that aren’t current hardcover subscribers will be deleted.
Why am I asking? It seems that although the hardcover subscription remains sold out, only 1/3 of the subscriptions are being housed as a set in the slipcase. I believe the new direction (no dust jackets) is most effective as a set of each year’s books housed together.
I’ll be taking feedback on this through the weekend before I make a final decision early next week.
So it’s a chance for your voice to make an impact on the future production of Delirium limiteds.
So let me know your thoughts and the reasons why…

Delirium Books Website Downtime, Changes
Just wanted to post a notice that the Delirium website (www.deliriumbooks.com) will be going down for a day or two. I have decided to consolidate news and information into a single site between Horror Mall and Delirium. This will make it easier for me to post news and also easier for everyone who’s interested to have one single source to get the latest scoop on all things Delirium. So once the site goes back online, it will direct all traffic to the following URL:
http://www.horror-mall.com/deliriumbooks.
All news and announcements will be made via Delirium’s blog at Horrorgy which can be found here:
http://www.horror-mall.com/horrorgy/category/store/store-delirium/
Delirium fans can join the newsletter which is hosted by Horror Mall at the following link:

Lastly, discussions on Delirium Books will take place on the official Delirium forums hosted at Horror Mall:

The Delirium HorrorWired series of digital releases are now being collected into a single annual volume which will be given free to all hardcover subscribers. The HorrorWired trade hardcover edition will be produced to meet the total number of hardcover subscribers.
Due to the Horror Mall’s no competition clause between shop owners, the Delirium storefront has acquired 5 new slots for its hardcover subscription due to the fact that Bad Moon Books has allocated its copies of future Delirium titles back to the Delirium Books shop.
These 5 subscriptions are now live and available to the first 5 customers at the following link:

Delirium / Jeff Strand Lettered Up For Grabs
Delirium has recently received back 3 of its lettered editions from booksellers to sell directly, so here’s a golden opportunity for a collector to get his or her number reserved for the future releases of Delirium lettereds, including some extremely sought-after titles coming in the next few years.
As of this initial announcement, 23 of 26 copies of Jeff Strand’s Benjamin’s Parasite lettered edition are pre-sold, which leaves just 3 available for sale on a first-come/first-serve basis. Those customers who land these 3 copies will also have the option to buy a matching letter of Delirium’s next leather-bound edition (to be announced next month).
Also, not only are Delirium’s lettereds genuine leather-bound and oversewn with special endsheets, each volume contains bonus material not found in any other edition published.
BENJAMIN’S PARASITE by Jeff Strand (Lettered Hardcover)
At any given moment, the human body contains millions of parasites.
This is the story of just one.
A really, really nasty one.
Benjamin Wilson was having a lousy month even before the stomach pains began. He was about to turn forty. One of his students had been shot while on a homicidal meat cleaver rampage. And shortly after the funeral, Benjamin didn’t feel so good…
Now everything is changing. His body is being affected in some very unpleasant ways. His personality is developing a few “quirks.” But the biggest change is that he has a bunch of evil and/or psychotic people trying to hunt him down to acquire the parasite. His only hope is Julie, a gorgeous bounty hunter who may or may not have Benjamin’s best interests in mind, and who may or may not be competent enough to help him anyway.
Jeff Strand, author of The Sinister Mr. Corpse, Gleefully Macabre Tales, and Pressure, delivers his most outrageous adventure yet—an over-the-top mix of gruesome body horror and a wacky road trip comedy.
You’ll laugh until your intestines scramble.
This special slipcased leather-bound hardcover edition is limited to 26 copies and features:
- Bonus afterword by the author
- Oversewn natural leather binding
- Custom-made slipcase with matching foil stamp design
- Special Endsheets
